Unlike other personal injury matters, the Worker’s Compensation Board determines the amount your attorney is paid for their services to you. The attorney fee which comes out of the amount you receive is typically between 10% to 20% of your compensation award.
It is worth the cost of the attorney fee to have an attorney working with you. If other parties contributed to the cause of your injury such as a product manufacturer, contractor, etc., you may be able to seek compensation from them in addition to Workers Compensation. Paul Wolf can assist you with all of these issues.
is a special kind of Court Order which divides a pension plan or retirement account as part of a divorce. Your divorce settlement most likely divided the pension and retirement benefits between you and your ex-spouse. While your divorce settlement states how pension benefits are to be divided, the additional step of having a QDRO prepared must be undertaken in order to actually divide the pension benefits.
QDROs require very technical language and most divorce attorneys do not fully understand the necessary requirements, which is why you should retain an attorney who is experienced in drafting QDROs.
A QDRO should be prepared as soon as possible after a divorce, as the death or retirement of your ex-spouse prior to a QDRO being completed, can in some situations cause detrimental complications to you.
With over 50 years of legal experience between the two of us, Berzer & Wolf can help you with any legal situation that you have. Including, but not limited to, Matrimonial Law, Criminal Law, Workers Compensation, Wills & Estates, and QDROs
